Sporty Jabber Watcher

This is a countdown timer with a toaster-like feel. It may be useful for many things, but was intended to limit talk time at meetings. It was inspired by Sporty so I named it in his honor - sharing time is caring. Besides, when sharing goes beyond 2-3 minutes, the listeners begin to drop attention and the speaker is either jabbering or giving a dissertation. Time to move on.
This version flashes when the time limit expires, but I will add some sounds that can serve as a gentle reminder to the speaker and the chair. There a 30 second extend feature is the chairperson deems the sharing should continue.

Things you can expect:
  • This will work (adequately, if not perfectly).
  • This should work on any device with a browser.
  • Bug Fixes and improvements in future releases.
  • New and improved features in upcoming versions.
  • New and improved bugs in upcoming versions.
  • More apps and code of various degrees of uselessness.
I hope this serves you well.

Pressing will always reset the timer to it's preset time. If there is flashing or sound ( a future implementation) they will stop. It's sort of like the popcorn setting on a microwave. Just press it when the next speaker starts talking and their full allotted time begins to tick.

Alternately stops the timer or restarts it from the time it was stopped.

This adds a preset amount of time to a running timer (default 30 seconds). If the extended time plus the remaining. The remaining time will never be greater than what the timer is set for.

This was built as a sort of emergency stop button, but it doesn't have to be an emergency. This will stop the timer, stop flashing.

Plenty of time.
Time below half.
Better hurry- less than 20% left.
The meter will indicate the percentage of time remaining. Click or press it and you can change the time remaining. Currently it will be green until 50% of the time has elapse and it will turn yellowish. When 20% time remains, it turns red. There is a digital readout as well. Clicking on the meter will also change the time remaining.

The Settings Tab opens a panel to set the talkTime and the extended time.
A talk time of 3 minutes with a 30 second extra time is the default. The minimum time that can be set is 0 minutes and 10 seconds.
Press the set button to activate the desired time. The new talkTime will appearing the digital readout field. There is no maximum (in practical use) for any field. 120 seconds is the same as 2 minutes.
